Donald Trump has demanded an apology from the Bishop who asked him to ‘have mercy’ on the LGBTQ+ community.
Trump was slammed by the bishop in front of everyone during the the sermon on Tuesday 21 January.
While attending church on Tuesday as part of his inauguration celebrations, the 78-year-old got roasted by the bishop, Mariann Budde.
Many members of the Trump family were in attendance, including Melania, daughter Tiffany and daughter-in-law Lara. As well as VP, J.D Vance.
Budde told Trump to show mercy to gay, lesbian and trans people. She also mentioned that immigrants are now frightened under the new administration due to his mass deportation plans.
She asked the president to allow people into the country who are running from war-torn homes and in need of rescue and sanctuary.
Both Trump and Vance appeared annoyed at Budde for her choice of words.
Now, the president has hit back in a lengthy statement. Taking to Truth Social, he said: “The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater. She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way.”
“She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart. She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our Country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA.
“Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job!”
“She and her church owe the public an apology! t.”
