Man Eats Nearly 1,000 Eggs In A Month And Reveals Surprising Effect On His Sex Drive

A man who devoured nearly 1,000 eggs in just 30 days has shared how the extreme diet affected his body—including the surprising impact on his sex drive.

Over the years, YouTube challenges have evolved far beyond simple viral trends like the Cinnamon Challenge or the Harlem Shake. Today, content creators take things to an entirely new level.

Some spend thousands of dollars to review every airline in the U.S., others test whether drinking excessive amounts of water improves productivity, and some even rent out Egyptian pyramids for a single video.

One YouTuber who pushed the limits to entertain his audience is Joseph Everett, the creator behind the channel ‘What I’ve Learned’.

In December 2022, he uploaded a video titled ‘I ate 900 eggs in 1 month. Here’s what happened to my cholesterol.’ His goal was to see if a high-egg diet could enhance his physical strength.

At the start of the challenge, Everett blended raw eggs into protein fruit smoothies. But as the days went on, he began incorporating them into meals with rice, beef, and protein bars to make them easier to consume.

By day five, Everett realized his egg-heavy diet was causing serious digestive issues, forcing him to start cooking them instead.

However, on day nine, he noticed something unexpected—his diet seemed to be affecting his sex drive.

“The ninth day is when I noticed I’d been feeling pretty great,” Everett explained. “I felt more focused, had tons of energy in and out of the gym.”

In addition to feeling more focused and energetic, Everett claimed that his libido was noticeably higher than usual.

The idea that eggs could boost sex drive might sound unusual, but some experts believe there’s science behind it.

Dr. Arun Kumar, writing for Practo.com, points out that eggs contain L-arginine, an amino acid that has been linked to improved erectile function in some men.

Many experts have discussed the impact that eggs can have on a person’s sex driveYouTube/What I’ve Learned
“While certain foods can keep your blood pumping and boost hormone levels, diet alone isn’t always enough to improve your sex life,” he continued, advising that those experiencing a drop in sexual desire or discomfort during intercourse should seek medical advice.

Meanwhile, Rajeswari V Shetty, Consultant and Head of Dietetics at SL Raheja Hospital in Mumbai, told Healthshots that the B vitamins found in eggs can play a role in increasing libido while helping to reduce stress.

“Also, eggs help to fight stress and balance hormone levels, which are necessary for a healthy sex drive,” the specialist added.

“It can be consumed in various forms, like hard-boiled, scrambled, or poached eggs.”

Of course, eating eggs isn’t the only way to support a healthy sex drive. OB/GYN Salena Zanotti suggests that couples struggling with intimacy should consider therapy as well.

“For most people, sex and sexual arousal is two-pronged – you need your body to respond in certain ways, and you also need to be mentally interested,” she told the Cleveland Clinic.

“If your mind is focused on other concerns, it’s easy for sexual desire to wane.”

Other natural ways to improve libido include managing stress, getting enough sleep, and maintaining a balanced diet.

2015 study found that regular exercise can positively impact sex drive, help navigate relationship changes, and improve body confidence.

Meanwhile, Medical News Today reports that quitting smoking can significantly improve sexual function for both men and women.

By the end of his experiment, Everett had packed on an impressive 13 pounds of muscle and reported that his weightlifting performance had improved.

Despite the drastic change in his diet, he claimed his blood tests showed no significant increase in ‘bad cholesterol’.

However, he did notice that he was sleeping less throughout the challenge.
