Hotel manager: “Because as you said he is under the influence of alcohol and drugs, SAME personnel can’t enter alone.”

911 operator: “You can ask that to the police, but if SAME needs them, they will notify you.”

Hotel manager: “Good, OK, perfect.”

911 operator: “Have a good day.”

Hotel manager: “Thanks, you too.”

Elliot Eastman ‘shot dead and dumped at sea’ after he was kidnapped from his home in an ambush

Elliot Eastman has been presumed dead after he was shot and dumped into the sea amid a shocking ambush that occurred at his home.

The YouTuber was abducted from Sibucom, which is located in the Zamboanga del Norte region of the Philippines back in October after four armed men broke into his home pretending to be police officers.

The 26-year-old was reportedly in the house with his Muslim Filipina wife Karisha Jala when they burst through the door around 10PM on October 17.

It is believed that Eastman was shot in the leg while trying to resist the gunmen and was taken away on a speedboat and dumped into the sea.

The local authorities started an investigation in the hopes that they would find Eastman alive. However, the operation allegedly resulted in clashes with armed kidnapping groups on the conflict-torn island of Mindanao, and eventually, the suspects were shot dead after they were embroiled in a gunfight.

Pictures taken from the crime scene also showed blood smeared all across the vinyl floors of the couple’s home.

Though the motive was not yet fully clear, the Daily Mail reported that former Sibuco mayor Norbideiri Edding said kidnappers may have targeted the American because they thought he was a rich foreigner and resented the fact that he was living with a local Muslim woman.

Speaking about the details of the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Ramoncelio Sawan, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula acting spokesman, said: “Sometime late October, during our investigation, we encountered one witness who claimed Eastman had been shot during the abduction.

“On their way to escape by sea, the abductors noticed that Elliot Eastman was already dead. They threw his body into the water,” he continued before noting that officials initially branded this as “speculation” until they received more evidence of the crime.

“But then later on, sometime in November, we caught a suspect linked to the kidnapping. He himself confirmed what happened. He confirmed Elliot had been shot and that the man was dumped overboard,” he added.

Because of this, the authorities were able to execute an “extrajudicial confession” before submitting it to the Prosecutor’s Office where they filed a complaint.

Shortly before his death, Eastman allegedly stated that he was afraid of living in the area, where he had been for about five months.

“As long as I’m here, my life is still at risk, you know,” the YouTuber said during a Facebook Livestream on September 22. “That’s the reality. especially the area that I’m in… It’s not even just the Philippines. This area that I’m in is like the most dangerous area in the country so it’s literally like the red zone.”

Eastman’s family has been informed of the incident and the ongoing investigation through the US Embassy, a police spokesman added per the outlet.

A father of three has tragically died in a freak accident involving an electric skateboard just weeks before Christmas.

Luke Verrell from New South Wales in Australia, died on November 26 – a day after falling from an electric skateboard in Umina, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Verrell, 45, was riding his high-speed, battery-powered skateboard to meet friends for dinner around 6:00PM on November 25 when he fell.

The board is capable of reaching speeds of up to 60km/h and Verrell was reportedly not equipped with a helmet at the time of the incident.

Suffering severe head injuries, he was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Authorities have since seized the skateboard, which had recently been repaired after a previous malfunction.

Described as a devoted father to three children – Dylan, 25, Beau, 10, and Jemma, 6 – Verrell’s passing has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones.

His younger brother, Jimmy Verrell, remembered Luke as a generous man who was deeply protective of his children.

“We grew up skating, and it was a different time back then,” Jimmy told Daily Mail Australia. “He wouldn’t let his kids get on a board without a helmet, knee pads, and wrist pads.”

Jimmy recalled his brother’s fearless spirit, saying: “During my childhood, there was maybe only two years where he wasn’t bandaged up or injured.

The number of times we’ve had calls that Luke is in hospital having fallen off something, and then he just checks out, usually on crutches or a plaster on his arm – and he is fine.”

Initially, the family was not overly alarmed when they heard about the accident, assuming it would be another case of Luke bouncing back.

“Me and his son Dylan were joking on the way to the hospital, saying, ‘Watch out, he’ll be at the pub again by the weekend,’” Jimmy said.

But the gravity of the situation became clear upon arrival: “Reality hit like a ton of bricks.”

Verrell’s passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and support from the community.

“There were more than 30 people in the hospital waiting room,” Jimmy said. “Luke touched so many people. The number of messages I’ve received since has blown me away.”

Even local taxi drivers reached out to express their condolences. “It’s honestly unbelievable the amount of mates that guy had,” Jimmy added.

Jimmy and his older brother Mark are now reflecting on ways to honor Luke’s legacy, particularly for his children.

“Luke was like a father figure. He led by example, had the best manners, was kind and protective,” Jimmy said. “We are going to be there for the kids in every way that we can to teach them the same values that Luke taught us.”

As electric skateboards grow in popularity, particularly during the holiday season, Jimmy is urging riders to prioritize safety.

“They go just as fast whether you have a kid on them or a big man,” he said. “Everyone needs to wear a helmet. It’s just not worth the risk, even for short distances.”

Jimmy noted that Luke’s board had recently been repaired after a malfunction and cautioned against underestimating their potential dangers.

Our thoughts go out to Verrell’s family and loved ones at this time.

José Mateus Correia Silva, 28, from Brazil, was reportedly working out with his friends when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest.

He was rushed to a nearby fire station in Aguas Claras, Brasilia, to get medical help but multiple resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful and José was pronounced dead shortly after.

He was laid to rest two days later.

While the official cause of death has not yet been revealed, some social media users have alleged steroids may have contributed to the bodybuilder’s death. However, there is no evidence that suggests this at this point in the investigation.

Others also wondered whether the man simply pushed his body a little too hard.

“My neighbor is into professional body building. He said when you’re training you’re cutting so much and pushing your body to extreme limits to get an edge. Said he sometimes felt like he wanted to die or quit,” wrote one person on X.

In a statement, his brother Tiago thanked everyone who supported José.

“I want to thank the entire team that tried to save his life. They were all very professional and provided all the support,” he said, as per Need To Know.

“Heaven gained an angel. We are deeply saddened. He was so loved,” Tiago added. “We’ve received so many kind messages, flowers, and expressions of support.

“We are very Catholic, we believe in eternal life, and we’ll face this together,” he concluded.

The outlet also reported that the 28-year-old had no other known health issues.

While the athlete no longer competed as a bodybuilder, he did finish in ninth place in the 2018 South American Championships in the Men’s Physique Class up to 179cm, per the Daily Mail.

He used his free time to coach other high-performance athletes and create videos to post on social media, giving his followers exercise tips as well as motivational content.

Other tributes have also been pouring in as the news continues to spread online.

“Sad, man. Many things happening around these days,” wrote one user.

“Lord have mercy,” another added.

“Thoughts to the family…” a third commented.

This loss follows the recent deaths of other young bodybuilders, including Matheus Pavlak and a Belarusian known as ‘The Mutant,’ who were both victims of heart attacks.

World’s oldest man is confirmed by Guinness World Records

The title of the world’s oldest man has passed to João Marinho Neto of Brazil, following the recent passing of British-born John Alfred Tinniswood.

Tinniswood, a beloved figure, was remembered by his family for his remarkable qualities: intelligence, decisiveness, and a knack for great conversation. He sadly passed away in a Southport care home where he had been residing.

Now, stepping into the spotlight is João Marinho Neto, who has lived an extraordinary 112 years and 55 days. His longevity is impressive, especially considering his humble beginnings and life of hard labor. Born into a family of farmers on October 5, 1912, in Maranguape, Ceara, Brazil, João started working in the fields at the tender age of four.

João’s life has been marked by resilience and hard work. He spent his early years helping his father on the farm, tending to cattle, and harvesting fruit from Juazeiro trees. Over the years, he expanded his farming efforts to include growing corn and beans, as well as raising various livestock. His marriage to Josefa Albano dos Santos was fruitful, bringing four children into the world, followed by three more from his partnership with Antonia Rodrigues Moura.

His longevity can be attributed to simple, yet profound wisdom. When asked about the secret to his long life, João shared that it was about being “surrounded by good people and keeping his loved ones close by.” A stark contrast to the more whimsical advice often cited by others, such as drinking gin or staying single.

João’s large family, which includes six living children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, certainly keeps him company and adds joy to his long life. This family-centric approach to life underscores the importance of social bonds and emotional health in longevity.

As the world celebrates João’s new title, LongeviQuest, the organization that confirmed his age, has extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for his continued health and happiness. His story is not just a personal milestone but serves as an inspiration to people around the globe, reminding us of the richness of a life well-lived.

However, João still has some catching up to do if he aims to surpass the world’s oldest living woman, Tomiko Itooka of Japan, who is currently 116 years old. Itooka attributes her long life to an active lifestyle that included hiking and mountain climbing well into her nineties.

Perhaps there’s something to be said for staying active, as Tinniswood also credited walking for his long life. So, whether it’s working on a farm or taking hikes, it seems that staying physically active is a common thread among those who enjoy remarkably long lives. Maybe it’s time for us all to dust off our walking boots and take a stroll towards a healthier future.

Storm De Beul, 22, was found dead in Lapland on October 30 after attempting a solo trek across the Swedish wilderness.

The young man, from Belgium, had been hiking solo through the remote Jokkmokk region and had set up camp when the snowstorm hit, Daily Mail reported.

According to Belgian news outlet 7sur7, De Beul reportedly contacted emergency services during the blizzard, saying he was wounded and needed help, however, medics were unable to reach him until the next day due to severe weather conditions.

He sent a video to a friend showing how the intense snowfall had filled his shoes and backpack. “Tonight, it’s going to get worse. Jesus Christ,” he reportedly added.

De Beul also shared a separate message to his grandmother, telling her that it was “snowing heavily” in the area and adding: “But don’t worry, I’ll survive, you know.”

De Beul’s parents, Bout and Elisabeth, told Belgian media what happened on that fateful night. They said that no one knows why their son abandoned his shelter.

“Trees were uprooted that night,” Elisabeth said. “Maybe his tent also blew away and he had no choice but to start walking.

“But it was -6C, and because of the storm it even felt like -18C. His feet and lower legs were frozen,” she continued. “His hands weren’t, he might still have had his hand warmers with him.”

His mother revealed that her son had a broken nose when he was found, suggesting he had fallen. “He must have suffered for a long time and died alone. I keep imagining his last moments. It devastates me,” she added.

The 22-year-old, known as StormOutdoorsy on YouTube, boasted over 1.8K subscribers on his channel, where he regularly posted content of him camping in remote locations.

The grieving father said once the snow begins to thaw next spring, he will travel to his son’s tent in the spot where he was found “in the hope of finding something of him”.

He also hopes to retrieve De Beul’s belongings, which include videos of his final days. “His videos are a priceless legacy for us,” he told 7sur7.

“But now his camera is there, somewhere in the snow, full of images from his very last trek. I would love nothing more than to get it back,” he continued. “Imagine if his camera and memory card were still there. I know the chances are slim, but I have to try.”

Paying tribute to his beloved son, his father added: “Storm was someone who had trouble connecting with people. He really liked being alone.

“Since he had a lot of money, he regularly went on adventures in nature. That made him really happy. There, he could choose his own path, literally and figuratively,” he concluded.

Our thoughts are with De Beul’s family and friends at this time.
