A Philadelphia woman is going viral for openly sharing her plastic surgery journey — and she says it’s completely changed her life.
Devyn Aiken, 30, has amassed more than 61,000 TikTok followers by posting unfiltered updates about her recent rhinoplasty. But according to Aiken, her decision wasn’t about becoming someone else.
“I’ve always thought I was pretty. I never considered myself ugly,” Aiken told PEOPLE in an interview. “I just hated my nose. That’s all.”

After years of saving, Aiken finally underwent the procedure last November with Dr. Mark Ginsburg, a triple board-certified plastic surgeon and ENT. The surgery cost her roughly $11,000 — all out of pocket.
From Insecurity to Influence
Aiken has been candid about the emotional roller coaster that led her to the operating room. She revealed she first asked her mom for a nose job at 14 years old after relentless teasing in middle school.
“Kids used to call me names like bird and Toucan Sam,” she said. “It made me feel like my nose was the only thing people noticed.”

Despite the bullying, Aiken didn’t have the means to get the surgery until recently. Over the years, she did extensive research, attending consultations across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She specifically wanted an ENT to ensure no breathing complications after surgery.
“I didn’t want a Barbie nose. I just wanted something natural that fit my face,” Aiken explained.
The Surgery and Aftermath
Aiken booked the procedure in secret, telling family just a week before. “Not because I was scared of judgment,” she said. “I just didn’t want anyone to talk me out of it.”

The night before the operation, anxiety hit hard. “I was so nervous I literally made myself sick,” Aiken admitted. “But I knew this was something I’d waited on for decades.”
Her mom cared for her during the recovery process, which Aiken documented on TikTok from day one. Her transparency quickly drew attention, with thousands thanking her for showing the realities of cosmetic surgery — bruising, swelling, and all.
“I wanted people to see everything — the good, the bad, the ugly,” she said.

Life After the Nose Job
Now, Aiken says she feels incredible. “Every time I look in the mirror, I’m happy,” she said. “It’s life-changing. I can walk into a store without feeling like people are staring at me.”
While critics call her “fake,” Aiken insists the opposite is true. “I’m not trying to be someone else. I just improved what I already had,” she said.
For her, the $11,000 price tag was worth every penny. “Best decision of my life,” she said. “You can plainly see the confidence in my smile.”
